ABOUT THE SHOW:
Barbra Lica presents all new songs and stories from her 2017 Juno-nominated album, “I’m Still Learning”. Her show uniquely combines original songs with a vintage-pop feel and re-imagined standards from the era of Doris Day and Peggy Lee. She’ll be joined by a stellar band of jazz musicians from across Canada.
Juno-nominated artist Barbra Lica is a fast-rising star in the Canadian Jazz scene. In the short period of time since her 2012 debut album release (That’s What I Do), she has been selected as one of Canada’s Top 5 Jazz singers by CBC host Tim Tamashiro, as well as one of 5 up-and-coming jazz artists in Toronto by blogTO.
Barbra is currently promoting her Juno-nominated album, “I’m Still Learning”, released September 2016 by Justin Time Records. It was co-produced by Nelly Furtado guitarist/co-writer James Bryan and accomplished pop/jazz bassist Marc Rogers (Joe Lovano, Nikki Yanofsky, Norah Jones). It also features Lou Pomanti (Anne Murray, Michael Bublé) on keyboards and Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy, Michael Brecker) on percussion along with Barbra’s touring band of up-and-coming Jazz musicians from across Canada who will be joining Barbra this summer on the road.
