I started making sock monkeys about 5 years ago when a friend wanted one and couldn’t find any available. And, since we live in Canada, hand-knit sweaters and hats seemed to be perfect accessories. Over the years I have hand sewn hundreds of sock monkeys and hand-knit their custom designed sweaters and hats. No two are ever alike, even if I try to make twins it never works out.For the monkeys, I use only new work socks and non-allergenic polyester fiberfill. For their hats and sweaters, I use 100% Canadian wool from Briggs & Little in New Brunswick – the oldest woolen mill in Canada.
