Amanda Braam

Amanda Braam

Amanda & The Paper Cranes are an indie band from Waterloo. Amanda (songwriter/vocals/guitar), Fiona (guitar/keys/vocals), Eve (bass/vocals), and Zoe (percussion/vocals) became friends studying music at Wilfrid Laurier University, and came together to bring Amanda’s songs to life with their rich harmonies, catchy melodies, and vivid lyrics. Amanda Braam released her debut album, ladybug basement, in 2021, and shortly thereafter won the Dorothy Shoemaker Songwriting Contest; and Western University’s Musician Competition. In April 2024, she released her new album Paper Cranes. The singles Pink Paper Hearts and Origami are accompanied by music videos on her Youtube Channel.  Amanda’s vocal delivery, chord progressions, and sense of rhythm are influenced by her background in jazz performance. This year, Amanda & The Paper Cranes will be gracing the main stage at Riverfest Elora!
