Alto Saxophonist Brenon Parmar (b.2000) is an upcoming performer in the Toronto jazz scene. Currently studying Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto he has been awarded the Mary Alive Stuart Jazz Scholarship, Richard Iorweth Thorman Jazz Scholarship and has had the chance to develop under Kelly Jefferson, John Johnson, John Macleod, and Gordon Foote. Brenon has received multiple awards including the 2015 Best Soloist Award in the Festivals of Music competition (NYC), the Don Strathdee musical excellence award in 2014,2015,2017 and a scholarship award to attend the Berklee Five Week program in 2018.
Aside from saxophone Brenon has received a stellar musical education completing his Grade 10 RCM exams in classical piano. He is extremely excited to have the opportunity to play in the TD Niagara Jazz 4 The Ages Youth Competition.
