18 to 23 Vocals Winner.Evan Dolinski is a versatile young performer whose passion for storytelling and music continues to distinguish him as an emerging talent in both jazz and the performing arts. A dedicated vocalist and accomplished actor, Evan brings a deep sense of emotion, musicality, and stage presence to every performance.
A multi-year finalist at Jazz for the Ages, Evan has consistently ranked among the top vocalists in his division, earning Top 3 finishes in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and winning Best Vocals in 2020. His strong connection to jazz repertoire and ability to interpret songs with maturity beyond his years make him a compelling competitor.
In addition to his musical achievements, Evan has built an impressive résumé in film and theatre. He earned the 2022 NOVA Star Award for Best Principal Role in a Feature Film for his performance in Mistletoe and Molly, where he notably learned sign language for the role. His recent acting accolades include Best Supporting Actor at the 2025 National Theatre School DramaFest Awards and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedic Role at the 2025 Cappies Awards.
On stage, Evan has taken on a wide range of roles, most recently starring as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. His theatre experience spans major productions including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 9 to 5, and Gypsy, showcasing both his dramatic depth and comedic timing.
Currently a Grade 12 student in the DNA Arts Program at Laura Secord Secondary School, Evan maintains Honour Roll standing while actively contributing to student leadership as Prime Minister of Student Council. He is also a member of the Advanced Jazz Choir, Concert Choir, and Music Council. Evan has recently been accepted into Sheridan College, where he will pursue an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Music Theatre Performance, further advancing his training in both vocal and theatrical disciplines.
With formal training in voice and acting, as well as experience in guitar, Evan continues to refine his craft across disciplines. Whether on stage, on screen, or behind a microphone, he is committed to delivering authentic, engaging performances that resonate with audiences.
