15 to 17 Sax Finalist. Evan is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and digital creator based in the Barrie/Simcoe County Area, Ontario.
Evan’s fascination with music began in his early childhood when he was exposed to the full depth of sounds of the pipe organ, and began learning music on his home electric organ under his parents’ guidance and instruction. With a love for the keys and foundational knowledge, Evan later self-taught himself the accordion to add to his musical skillset because he wanted the versatility to travel with his instrument and he likened the accordion to a miniature organ. He was welcomed by his worship community as a band member/ organist/accordionist in the early 2020’s where he still contributes regularly in their music ministry and expands his repertoire of traditional and contemporary liturgical music.
As a high school student he began studies in the saxophone and became immersed in the school band community, quickly picking up the tenor saxophone and participating in multiple concerts as a junior. As a high school senior, he added baritone saxophone and alto saxophone to his skillset, though he now is mostly focused on the alto saxophone with private lessons and within community jazz ensembles.
As a classical and jazz saxophonist, Evan is a fixture in multiple regional ensembles. He currently practices and performs with the Barrie Youth Skyliners Big Band, and his own ensemble ‘Well Played’.
His proficiency on the accordion offers a unique, full sound for weddings, festivals, and performances, blending technical skill with crowd-pleasing charisma.

Evan is currently preparing for university studies in Saxophone Performance and later Organ Performance as well as Composition. Evan is focused on expanding his technical vocabulary and contributing to the vibrant arts culture of Simcoe County, Ontario, and even Canada. Whether leading a congregation from the organ loft, soloing in a jazz club, or engaging with viewers online, his goal remains the same: to deliver excellence through musical versatility.
