Jim Slominski, string, and electric basses has been the leader of the Niagara jazz duo/trio Dually Noted for close to six years. He began to play music when he was 20 years old and studied with Eric Lagace, the great Montreal symphonic and jazz bass player. He is a busy sideman in Niagara, performing a wide variety of music and styles which range from rock, folk, pop, celtic, and R&B, although he is busiest as an upright bass player in jazz guitar and piano duos, and performing in jazz trios with some of Niagara’s top vocalists. In 2013 Dually Noted was named the winner of the Niagara Music Awards Jazz Group of the Year.
