Stephen Babin

Stephen Babin is an accomplished musician familiar with both jazz and classical training. He was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario and is currently a grade 12 student at Ridley College. Stephen began his musical journey at a young age and quickly developed a passion for classical music while studying with his teacher Sandra DiCienzo for the past 14 years. He has competed and won many awards at the Kiwanis Festivals, as well as for provincials, and is currently finishing his ARCT.

While attending Ridley College, Stephen began exploring the world of jazz and joined the Ridley College Jazz Band to learn a new style of music, which he’s enjoyed playing with through the years at Ridley. Steve Fralick taught the band and also helped me to improve on my jazz piano skills during my time at Ridley. Stephen has been accepted at Western University in London Ontario for Bachelor of Music – Piano Performance in the fall, which he is looking forward to attending.

Stephen continues to pursue his passion for music and is constantly seeking new ways to develop his skills in both jazz and classical piano performance. He also enjoys playing soccer, and a variety of other sports like hockey and snowboarding, as well as reading and spending time with his dog cooper.
