Marinko Jareb aka DJ Marinko aka $tink*$ki (the machine) is a DJ, VJ and visual artist.
Marinko is a very diverse and skilled DJ who approaches sound with a collage based aesthetic to fuse together very thoughtfully assembled elements of music with utmost attention to detail – what sounds loose and easy is often painstakingly assembled and edited to perfection before it ever hits the speakers or the crowd.
Marinko is a multi-faceted artist, DJ and VJ working in the Niagara Region. He has performed and exhibited his work internationally, striking a balance between the art gallery walls and dancefloor.
Marinko worked with Plus 8 Records to bring Neroli (an ambient internet broadcast) in the mid-90’s to Niagara.
Marinko was signed to Mono Records of Helsinki, Finland as DJ Machine in the late 90’s and toured Europe many times to perform his unique brand of techno music known as machine funk and electric body music.
Marinko is a member of NAC and an accomplished artist who was hand picked by Cram International and was featured on the Akimbo art blog.
Nominated for a Niagara Music Award.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Niagara Solar Sound System is a new project initiated by DJ Marinko and one of only very few solar-powered systems in the world, making it very unique and internationally relevant. The purpose of creating the Niagara Solar Sound System was to have a mobile, multipurpose and modular way to bring the idea sustainability to cultural events. The Niagara Solar Sound System has been realized by Marinko with the help of the following partners and sponsors: Linus Bikes, Goal Zero, Long and McQuade Musical Instruments, Niagara Artists Centre, Ramm Design Labs, Ontario Arts Council, Liberty! Bicycles, Garden City Food Co-op, The Niagara Jazz Festival and Lauren Garbutt Photography.
