ABOUT THE SHOW:

The TD Niagara Jazz Festival is grateful to have dedicated volunteer photographers that continue to capture the essence of the festival. Spectacular moments that are frozen in time thanks to their incredible talent.

This event showcases the work of the TD Niagara Jazz Festival’s amazing photographers throughout the years.

A huge thanks to Dan Brown, Cosmo Condina, Bill Beard & Jeff on Camera for all that they do.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

The Wojtek Justyna TreeOh! fuses the energy of funk-jazz, the colors and rhythms of world music with fresh sonic explorations through combining soaring fuzzy leads with the rootsy sounds of traditional African instruments and throbbing synth bass lines. For their third album “THRICE” (2022) the musicians have joined their creative compositional talents to write a set of music that is packed with head nodding grooves, intriguing harmonies and vigorous melodies that are bound to captivate the listener.

Countless worldwide performances in clubs and renowned jazz festivals such as Jazz in Daegu (South Korea), Delft Jazz Festival, State-X New Forms, Bevrijdingsfestival (The Netherlands), Jazzmeile Thüringen, Jazzahead! (Germany) and Letni Festiwal Jazzowy (Poland) have earned the TreeOh! a reputation of an electrifying live act full of dynamics, colorful textures and fiery interplay between the band members.

Line up:

  • Wojtek Justyna (Poland/The Netherlands) – guitar
  • Szymon Justyński (Poland) – bass guitar
  • Alex Bernath (Germany) – drums
  • Diogo Carvalho (Portugal) – percussion, balafon & synth

Bill Beard

I have been photographing seriously since 2001 concentrating on nature and street photography. In 2012 I started my jazz  photography career taking pictures of the group Red Hot Ramble. When I retired in 2013 I started to volunteer at JAZZ.FM91 and shortly after I joined I started doing photography for them.

I have photographed for the Markham, Toronto, and Kensington Market festivals. My favourite Festival was the Niagara Jazz Festival where I got to meet such wonderful people who volunteered at the festival. I photographed two seasons of the festival. some shows at the cafe, the World Music show, and a big band show.  I can’t say enough about Juliet and Peter who took me in with such warm hospitality.  They made me feel right at home and part of the festival family.

COVID put a stop to my jazz career so I have concentrated on nature, specifically birds. My images can be seen on Facebook under my name (Bill Beard).

Jeff on Camera

Jeff is a Niagara based photographer whose love for the camera and music have combined in his business Jeff on Camera. For over 5 years, he’s had the privilege of shooting a variety of artists, from local musicians in small clubs to music icons in crowded stadiums. Whether it’s the Gasworks in Hamilton, or the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Jeff captures the energy and emotion of each performance and has the creative and technical skills to produce beautiful stage, promo and head shots. A musician himself, he anticipates the moments that translate into photos both artists and audiences love.
