SOUL JAZZ in the VINEYARD is one of Niagara Jazz Festival’s favorite signature events. This event is an electrifying display of soul jazz music that pulsates through the air, captivating the audience with its irresistible rhythm and heartfelt melodies all set to the beautiful backdrop of the Henry of Pelham Winery’s vineyard.

For the 1st set, multi-instrumentalist Quincy Bullen and his band will energize the atmosphere with their infectious groove and soulful melodies. Then for the 2nd set they will be joined by the iincredible vocalist Michael Dunston. When Michael takes center stage, the audience will be spellbound by the raw power and soulful resonance of his voice. From tender ballads to soaring anthems, his performance will transcend mere entertainment, leaving an indelible mark on all who bear witness to his musical prowess.

Quincy Bullen is a multi-talented artist whose eclectic style and musical sensibility have won him a devoted following. With a background in classical and jazz music, Quincy has put his own twist on R&B, jazz, and soul, reinvigorating modern music and contemporary jazz standards with his unique approach.

Quincy’s passion for music began at an early age, and he quickly established himself as a rising star in the Canadian jazz scene. He was a founding member of the Quintessential Boys, a successful teen-jazz band that caught the attention of audiences and critics alike. Over the years, Quincy has assembled a band of up-and-coming musicians and seasoned jazz professionals to join him on his musical journey.


Michael Dunston is a renowned vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor all around dynamic entertainer.​ Michael Dunston has formed one of the most exciting and uplifting ensembles to hit the Toronto music scene in some time. “Spirit” is a nine-piece, full-throttle, high-octane Gospel and Blues group that is bursting with talent, drive, and the much-needed message of joy, hope, and compassion for all human beings – no matter what their nationality, faith, or belief system. he musical outpouring of “Spirit” is downright contagious – as illustrated by their standing-room-only performances at “The Rex Hotel and Jazz Bar” and “The Montréal Bistro & Jazz Club”. Michael’s repertoire includes material from the late, great Donny Hathaway, Andre Crouch, Cee Cee and BB Winnans, and the incomparable Stevie Wonder.

Michael Dunston was born in North Carolina but is now a long-time Canadian resident. His many acting credits include performances in the feature films, “Tommy Boy” and Death Wish 5″, and on the small screen, he has been seen on “Doc” and “Queer as Folk” (among many others). As a vocalist and trumpet player, he has shared the stage with artists such as Diana Ross and Bill Cosby and has performed with a wide variety of musical groups covering the genres of R&B, Soul, Rock, Blues, and Jazz. Dunston has also worked with several major Toronto-based groups, including “Guido Basso Orchestra”, Russ Little Orchestra” and drummer Archie Alleyne’s Evolution of Jazz. Michael is an accomplished theatre actor and has also done numerous commercials and voice-over work.

This new version of himself including his new music is going to take the airwaves by storm.
