ABOUT THE EVENT:
“So, You Wanna Be A Jazz Singer … ”
Join JUNO-nominated vocalist and award-winning JAZZ.FM91 broadcaster Heather Bambrick as she looks at a few of the elements involved in jazz vocal performance and preparation, from stylistic appropriateness to taking a song off the page and making it yours. (Anyone wanting to get some additional pointers can bring along their favorite standard for a brief masterclass-style session as well, as time allows.) Joining Heather for this session will be one of the finest pianists in Canada, the wonderful John Sherwood.
For musicians and those interested in learning an instrument, the TD Niagara Jazz Festival offers Master Classes led by high-caliber jazz artists from Canada and the global stage. These Master Classes offer an unparalleled learning experience for all musicians, and for those who are just beginning their journey into the world of jazz music.
