BAND BIO:
LVO is a Hamilton, Ontario based Latin Ensemble known for playing the old school style of the 50’s, 60’s the Golden days of Latin music. What is known today as Salsa. Repertoire includes classic tunes paying tribute to the greats such as Mongo Santamaria, Ray Barretto, Tito Puente, Ismael Rivera, Noro Morales, Charlie Palmieri, and Manny Oquendo. Whether you are a Latin Music enthusiast or a Salsa Dance fanatic you definitely want to catch a LVO live performance.
HISTORY:
LVO was formed in 2011 by Carlos Rodriguez. He believed in the idea to use a 3 horn section (trumpet, tenor sax and trombone) and 4 piece rhythm section (piano, bass, and 2 percussionist) plus a lead singer which would make it an 8 piece band. An ensemble that is large enough to tear a roof down of a building but strategically well designed enough to survive in the music business where big bands are sadly almost forgotten.
LVO has maintain a busy schedule for the past 3 years playing a monthly show in Hamilton, Ontario at different venues which includes The Corktown Pub, The Casbah, Bay City Music Hall, Stonewalls, and Baranga’s on the Beach Outdoor patio in the summer days.
Last year LVO was invited to performed at The Hamilton World Music Festival, Hamilton Arts Awards, and Niagara-on-the-Lake Peach Festival.
